29-year-old Berryton man seriously injured in two-vehicle crash involving motor home - Topeka Capital Journal
AMR took the Berryton man to a Topeka hospital, Louderback said. The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office wasn’t releasing the names of those involved in the crash. Harold Louderback indicated in a news release that it occurred about 9:30 p. m at S. E. 45th and DuPont Road. He said the sheriff’s office was investigating whether the Berryton man had been driving while impaired, but found no signs of impairment for the driver of the motor home. He said that man had been driving a two-door 2002 Mitsubishi car northbound on S. E. DuPont when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 2003 Georgie Boy motor home pulling a 24-foot enclosed toy-hauler trailer, which was eastbound on... Source: cjonline.com
2009 GMC Sierra 2500HD True Compass - TruckTrend Network
One of Clayton’s favorite pastimes has been rockcrawling, perhaps a metaphor for the life he has always known. ” Clayton goes on to say, “This truck has everything I could ever want in a vehicle. Clayton likes to get out into the desert wilderness to see what he can handle, with help from his ’09 GMC Sierra 2500HD 6. 6L Duramax pickup. Born and raised on the Northern Minnesota prairie and having spent time in the U. S. Marine Corps in service to country, Clayton has always been up to the task. Clayton was injured during his tour of duty in the Marine Corps, honorably discharged, and returned home to Minnesota. ” Clayton tells us the 2500HD was a daily driver used for car hauling for five years. Inside, Clayton enjoys the panoramic view at cruise altitude with an Alpine 7-inch touchscreen DVD/CD player with an iPod connection, Kicker amp, and subwoofers. Clayton was in the Marines at Twentynine Palms, California, in the low desert more than 100 miles east of Los Angeles. His profession as an automobile shipper took him to the Victorville area of Southern California’s high desert, where life began to change in a positive way for Clayton, his wife, Jennifer, and their four kids—Justin, Danielle, Emma, and Blake. “I purchased this truck in 2010,” Clayton tells us. “The original owner had most of the work already performed, which made it easy. Then, it became a weekend pleasure cruiser and something of a play toy for family outings. “When I’m not on the road hauling cars, we enjoy going out to the desert to enjoy rockcrawling as a family, riding our side-by-side and quads in Johnson Valley, home to KOH—also known as ‘King Of The Hammers,’” Clayton comments. I’ve used this truck to pull everything from an enclosed car trailer to a 28-foot toy hauler. ” And beautiful it is, with an H&S Performance Black Maxx performance tuner, 5-inch exhaust from the turbo back, 7-inch exhaust tip, S&B cold-air intake, RBP grille treatments, HID headlamps, air compressor and airbags, Amp Research retractable... 2018 Dodge Durango SRT 1st Drive: The Perfect High Performance Hellcat Hauler - Torque News
It might seem unlikely to some people that a high performance vehicle like the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT would make for a good towing vehicle for a car trailer, here is a quick rundown of the weights being discussed. Fortunately, the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT has an official, SAE-approved towing rating of 8,700lbs, making it the ideal towing vehicle for a Hellcat owner who wants a fun-to-drive SUV to tow their supercharged muscle car to the track. If that same Durango SRT buyer wants to transport their Hellcat car in an enclosed trailer, they can expect to pull right around 8,000lbs, once again leaving plenty of room under the towing capacity for tires, tools and a jack. The 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat has a curb weight of roughly 4,450lbs while the 2017 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat weighs around 4,575lbs. A Durango SRT buyer who is using a 2,000lb open car trailer with either of the Hellcat cars will be pulling somewhere in the area of 6,600lbs, so there is plenty of room under the towing capacity for things like extra wheels/tires, a jack, tools,... At that media first drive event for the new Durango SRT, Dodge had the 475hp high performance SUV hooked up to a boat trailer so that those writers who rarely pull a trailer could experience it first hand. Keep in mind that the Jeep is slightly smaller and has a lower towing rating, but Ive logged hundreds of miles with the SRT Jeep and my test trailer, and I can see without question that the high performance SUV will pull the trailer as well as any... The simple drive route with the boat behind the 2018 Dodge Durango SRT did a fine job of showing that it could tow, but I have had the pleasure of towing my 5,000lb test trailer with the current Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT several times. When you then add in the adaptive suspension system and Brembo braking package, the Durango SRT will out-corner any 3-row SUV in America after beating them all in the quarter mile, but the fact of the matter is that there will be far more people... The Durango’s added size makes it a bit more stable feeling under load, so having been so impressed with how the SRT Jeep performed in my personal towing tests, I am confident that the SRT Durango will prove to be an excellent towing vehicle for... A 20-foot trailer is fairly average in the drag racing world, and through a company who focuses on lightweight trailers, a 20-foot open trailer has a curb weight of around 1,500lbs, but even a less expensive trailer like the ones rented by UHaul... Really, with some 20-foot enclosed trailers weighing under 3,000lbs, a Hellcat owner shouldn’t have any concerns pulling an enclosed trailer filled with their supercharged muscle car and everything needed for a day at the track behind the Durango...
